When we returned from Albox this afternoon, one of the builders knocked on the door and asked if I could go up to site. Obviously executive decisions were required once more. This time though I boxed clever and took the catering director with me. A good move because they wanted to discuss how high the kitchen wall tiles were to go, before they put the decorative border on. After a little huffing and puffing by the catering department, it was decided that the border should be about 1 metre off the floor. I would have made the same decision had the catering department been closed, but it’s nice to involve them in top level decision making isn’t it? (E: He’s learning at last).
We have five builders on site and were very pleasantly surprised, when we went up, to find that the family bathroom and nearly all of one bedroom ceiling had been plastered. The bathroom with it’s lovely tiles looks a proper treat. We think that they will continue now to plaster the walls of the bedrooms, we’ll see tonight. They worked inside today because early morning it was bitterly cold in the stiff north wind. It was like a knife cutting through you. Over night we had -1.4 degrees but it felt an awful lot lower than that. Inside the caravan went down to 4.4 degrees. It was a very chilly rise and shine this morning I can tell you. This afternoon the north wind has died away. In the sun it is very nice, in the shade it is still cold but still.
