Saturday 3-3-2007

It’s all go again today with the usual three builders on site at eight o’clock this morning and a couple of plumbers coming at a more leisurely time.
With the internet problems that we are encountering, we went down to the Albox internet café this morning to go on line and catch up with everything, blog, email etc. I transferred the recent blogs and some pictures onto the mobile hard drive only to find that when we got to the internet café, the computers there would not read from MS Works on the hard drive to the café computers. I do remember that we had a similar problem, way back when, but I cannot remember how we over came it. So I was able to log in and sort out 186 emails but the blog remains in deficit I’m afraid.
Elayne and I then went furniture hunting to Antas, and we have found the lounge furniture that we both like, which will marry up to the settee etc that we previously found in Albox. Job completed.J
It was about half past two when we arrived back on site (normally siesta time). A camp fire seemed to be alight and we found that all the builders plus some others from another site, had knocked off for the day and were sat enjoying barbequed ’T-bone steaks provided by Dario and Jose, by the looks. I’m not sure what they may have been celebrating, they did offer me a steak when I went over, but I declined because we were just about to have our ‘cuppa soup and cheese lunch‘. I took them over some cans of beer and cola and told them that ‘Senora say that they must get back to work pronto’. We all had a good laugh and then they went home.
Anyway we now have some stairs leading up to the solarium and all the plumbing pipe work is laid out and covered in cement where it crosses the floors. These pipes and the drainage pipe system is then covered in more concrete to a level and then the floor tiles will eventually be laid on top of it all. Two of our regular builders have worked every day for the last two weeks so I suppose that they may not show up tomorrow.
