A lovely day, 25/26 degrees, all day. We saw a lunar eclipse last night as we put the genny off at quarter past midnight, but at the time didn’t realise it. It was a full moon overhead and it was a dusky red brown in colour except for a slither of normal silver. I should have got the camera out but we were going to bed so didn‘t bother, shame on me. I did however take a quite good picture of the moon setting this morning, about quarter to eight, as the sun was rising on the opposite horizon, see pictures.
This afternoon we found a tiny little red poppy plant on the campo, trying to hold it’s own against all the other ground plants, and we noted that the fig trees are starting to go into leaf. They have been in bud for quite a few weeks. The warm weather has also brought out the tiny little lizards again. Saffy, the big game hunter, spent ages trying to get the lizards from under the stones, then he eats them and then he is sick in the caravan.
We have had the site to ourselves today ,after the builders celebrations of yesterday. We are getting up tomorrow to go down to Mojacar doing money things at the bank, but whilst we have been wandering around the empty house we have discovered that they have built the stairs to the solarium with part of the rise going under the ornate overhang of the roof. One would crack one’s head big time if it remains unchanged (the advantage of being on hand all the time) so we must see Dario, first thing, and see how he can solve this problem.
With the splendid day we have had today, the piped water coming down from the hebe, across the land, has been so hot, in it’s black pipe, that we have both been able to have a conventional, quite hot proper ‘standy upy’ shower this afternoon, what a joy and how quick it is. That’s the very first proper shower that we have had since we came over to the lay-by in early December. We promise not to take them for granted again. The water was so hot at one point that I thought that I would need to add some cold water, but of course this was the cold water dhhhh.
