We went to Albox this morning and got the car washed, it’s amazing how dusty it is just now as we haven’t had any rain for ages. We pigged out on a FEB and then went into Albox old town to the bank and to do some shopping. Whilst there we parked the car down in the rambla, just like everyone else does. We parked towards the centre of the rambla and not near the road bridge that crosses it. When we were walking back to the car and as we were going down some steps into the rambla bottom, we noticed three blokes, obviously Spanish council workers by their attitude to what they were doing. They were whitewashing the rambla walls and the stone on the bridge legs with a huge lance that had a spray spread of about 25cm. It was driven from a van pump, and the guy with the lance was spraying away with a determined vengeance and total disregard to the fact that when he was spraying the top edge of the rambla wall, most of the paint was going over the top of the wall and down onto the vegetation and cars that were below on the other side of the wall. As soon as I saw what was going on we rushed back to the car. Fortunately we were so far from the sides of the rambla and the bridge legs that our car was OK. I bet there was a whole lot of angry car owners wondering what the hell had happened to their cars when they returned to them.
As you may guess we have not seen sight nor sound of any builders today.
