The rain has stopped and after a peaceful night we emerged to go out for the weekend shopping and to visit more cooker stores. It’s is amazing that built in gas cookers are virtually non existent here and LPG Gas cookers can be counted on the fingers of one foot. We need a gas/LPG cooker if possible, because an electric on would dominate our electrical power management at any time that we wanted to use it. If we get an LPG gas oven then that will be independent of most of the electrical demand. We can get LPG ranges, but we don’t want one of those. We can get free standing gas cookers, but we don’t want one of those. We can get built under gas cookers, that go under the work surface, but we don’t want one of those either. We just want a built in LPG gas oven and perhaps grill to build into the kitchen cupboard units underneath a micro wave oven, so that the ‘fat can spit straight in your eye’ and you don’t have to bend over for the pleasure of it. The search goes on, and on……………
Yesterday evening Elayne spotted three little birds that we had not seen before. They are robin size and shape but they have a white tummy and black wing tips and eye mask. We again tried to take pictures of them but they were not good enough to put on the blog, we will keep trying. We identified them as male ‘Northern Wheatears’ ‘Oenanthe oenanthe’. They are one of the first migratory birds to arrive in this area from S Africa and The Sudan, and one of the last migratory birds to leave in October. We must have missed their going last year. They are really handsome little birds and we are pleased to add them to our collection of ‘birds spotted’ (I know it would have been different bird spotting in my younger days hmmmmm).
The sun is back thank goodness and we are getting ready to go out for a meal (a kind birthday present)tonight with our friends Mags and Allen. They are taking us to a steak house type of place down in Vera that they have visited before.
