Eight of us played whist down at Lentisco’s bar last night, it was really enjoyable. The locals looked very puzzled when they came to stand by us and watch. We must have played for nearly two hours.
Up early this morning, after a peaceful night.
I met Jose and the others as they arrived for work to break the bad news to them that the rejas are not correct. Lots of doleful faces and much discussions in Spanish, we must be classified as awkward beggars by now. Anyway I left them with the problem and headed off down to John and Anne’s place to meet up with Phil to un-installed the solar system that we bought from them. It took about three hours of mechano (lots of nuts and bolts) type work to dismantle it all. We then loaded it all into Phil’s trailer, my goodness the batteries were heavy and still full of electrolyte of course , and slowly drove back up here to site. There are eight solar panels, twelve batteries, one controller, one inverter, one heavy duty garage type battery charger plus various cables and instruction manuals. We have stored the batteries outside on a pallet and the solar panels inside in a place where we hope the builders will not damage them. Phil will come back and install it all up here when we have the utility room built.
The wrong rejas have now been removed and are discarded back on the floor, in a heap.
Elayne and I went off into town and returned a few hours later.
This afternoon in the house we have interior blanco paint on two bed rooms and the builders started, but abandoned, fitting the staircase rails. We are not quite sure why they have abandoned the rails, perhaps this is another item that has been made wrong and will not fit. I hope that I’m not getting cynical, but there has been some very silly cock up’s so far.
We really must get back to tennis on a Wednesday soon or we’ll get very rusty.
