We had quite a windy night last night and today the temperature has dropped down to 13 degrees with a stiff breeze. We are told that this will last until Thursday ;-(
We have four builders on site today (must have been my remarks to Dario the other day). Two lads have fitted the lounge and kitchen door rejas and are now busy building a support wall under the staircase. One lad is finishing off the cement rendering around the outside patio walls, where it meets the ground. Also another lad is working inside the house, perhaps painting.
On our visit last night the kitchen ceiling had been painted, so should the electrician come up to site he can get on fitting the units and electrical goods. We are sat waiting in (12-30hrs)for another call about delivering more electricals to us. We are not really sure if the girl we spoke to yesterday, at the shop, thought about today being a bank holiday. I have just tried to phone the place, but got now answer, so perhaps she had forgotten about the bank holiday. Clearly she enjoys work more than I did because I never forgot a bank holiday.
Dario and his brother Jose have been removing building materials from the site. So far they have taken the steel shuttering, the wood shuttering, the remaining marble (from the outside lower section of the wall) and some of the support props.
We need to discuss a problem with Dario in the morning. All of the door rejas that have been cemented into the walls today are too small. They have a gap at the top which is not acceptable to us.
