I met the builders at eight o’clock this morning to discuss amending the trench for the garage foundations. We all seemed to have got the hang of what I wanted them to do and half an hour later they all jumped in their car and disappeared for the day. Whoops, my Spanish did not seem to have the desired results. Anyway Dario (who speaks better English than Jose, who came up this morning) came up to site tonight and I was able to convey to him what I thought that I had conveyed to Jose this morning. My problem was that I want the garage walls to be 4 metres apart and so they have dug a trench exactly 4 metres wide instead of 4.5 metres wide. Seems quite logical to do this if you don’t want to build a wall right on the edge of the foundations. I also want the foundations deeper because the land where the front of the garage is will be lowered to make the drive way more level. Dario said that Jose misunderstood me and thought that I wanted them to stop work on the garage and to bring a JCB up to site to level the drive. Anyway Dario then went on to say that we will have internal room painters on site tomorrow so that Carlos can start work on Monday doing the electrics, plumbing and wood work. We have however been told this on the last three Mondays so we will not hold our breath on it.
It was very hot out in the sunshine this afternoon but cool when the clouds came over. We can see dark rain clouds to the east of us whilst we are sat in lovely evening sunshine. The wind has been boisterous for some of the day and then it swung round from the west to the south and now it has all but died. It has not caused us any problems but we are always aware of it and what it might decide to do.

Hello from Ottawa, Canada, the Nations Capital! I am quite computer illiterate and in trying to create my own blogspot "Haweater", I have somehow got yours on my screen and am quite intrigued. I wish I was on the mountain top watching grout dry! It is a beautiful sunny day here in Ottawa, about 15 celcius, as I passed the fire station they were fireing up the BBQ for steak supper, (they didn't invite me). Yesterday was the opening of our annual Tulip Festival, tulips everywhere of every size and colour and tourists everywhere with cameras capturing the splendor. Thanks for the great blog, when I have time, I will read from the beginnig. Be of Good Courage!
Welcome Ruthi
It's nice to know that you are reading the blog, where not all blogs are able to reach! You don't need to punish your self by reading 'all' of the 265 blogs, unless it's a religious penance thing or something, in which case you must have done something very terrible ;-))))
Good to have you on board.
Paul and Elayne
Having a very nice day in Taberno.
PS: Send me your blog information and we'll have a look.
