It’s sunny, the almond blossoms are delightful, it’s the 1st of February and we have just had lunch after playing tennis.
In pure celebration of these things, and to please our friend Cathy who likes things to be a little OTT bright, I have added a little more color to the blog background than I would normally have done. If the rest of you can read this, without being physically sick all over your ’puter keyboards, I promise to tone it all down again in a few days time.
Hey, but this is all the more delightful after putting up with the extremes of weather that we have just had (see my favorite picture of the snow). Who could have imagined, on Sunday, ever playing tennis again let alone a few days after all that snow.
The builders are working from eight until after six every day now. They will be finished shuttering up the ceiling section this week and will probably pour more concrete next week. We are not quite sure what the next stage will be, but my goodness it’s all very interesting. As I type, more roof bricks are arriving by lorry. Some arrived yesterday and the lorry must have got stuck in the driveway because there are huge gouges out of it where his wheels were slipping. We’ll sort all that out after the lorries finish coming.
BTW: This is the one hundred and eighty third blog that we have written since we started. I say we because Elayne proof reads each one, and adds the occasional comment, before going to press each day, otherwise you wouldn't be able to read it at all.
