It’s a bit of a glum day today. We have had rain overnight and a little wind, and that has continued this morning.
The builders have been back up this morning and have completed putting a final re-enforced mesh over the whole of the roof area. This mesh is wired down to all the other re-enforcement steels, locking the whole thing together. They have left now for the day so I have been for a snoop round and to take more pictures. It’s very cold in the wind and rain even though it is 7 degrees ambient. Probably the roof now is all but finished so the builders now have to await the architect’s inspection on Monday before getting on with the concrete laying.
I must say that I am very impressed with the work ethic and design integrity of the building so far. The builders work really hard all the time that they are here. The building will be strong enough to be an air raid shelter as well as being more earth quake resistant (not earth quake proof, no building can be that). We are hoping that this continues until the whole place is finished.
As it’s raining and we are shopped up for the week end, we are having an in day today and this afternoon I am going to watch a ‘Five Nations Fest’ on the box.
We believe that you in the UK have had a frosty night but that today and tomorrow will be wall to wall sunshine. Enjoy.
BTW: I have put a counter on the blog, just out of interest, and am very surprised to find that we are getting about thirty hit’s (visits to the site) a day. The blog is now being read in North Surrey Canada, Miller Place & Albany New York, Phoenix Arizona, California, Madrid, Dagenham, Roxwell Essex., Lambeth, Derbyshire, Scotland, Australia, and several hits from China and Hong Kong.
Well Elayne and I would like to say hello to all of you folks. Thank you for visiting our blog, we hope that you get enjoyment reading about our adventures here in Spain. It would be really good if you would make some comments when you’re on the blog (not looking for compliments) just to say hi! or even your constructive criticism would be appreciated.
