We were rudely awakened this morning to the sound of an approaching JCB driven by nice Paco from Taberno. He was coming last week sometime back, but came today anyway, manana. We were really glad to see him at last. The opportunity of him being on site was far too good to miss so in addition to nearly finishing the potho (I’m now told it is pronounced) I also got him to fill in the top of the hebe, dig a trench for me to put the water pipes into from the hebe to the house or caravan , extend the lay-by even more and then to level out the drive way more to the size that we had originally wanted it. I’m sure that when he arrived this morning he thought that he would be done and away in an hour. I kept him nearly four hours and then he had to get from and back to Taberno (another hour at least for him). So, we are nearly ready at last to move down to the lay-by, when (and not before) the architect can convince us that we really do have a proper pucker building licence, and that we will not get any nasty after building completion shocks. At this stage we will contact Juan once more to move the caravan and cabin.
This afternoon when Paco had left and we had returned from Albox, I started putting the electric cables that will eventually let us have power either up at the hebe or down on the lay-by, in place. It was very dusty work especially after Paco had disturbed all the ground and at one stage I had a ruddy great black beetle trying to nestle in between my toes as I sat working on the cables.
A tiring and satisfying day, finished off (after a cold shower and clean up) with a game of Frisbee by full moonlight with Elayne. What a spectacle that made I can tell you.
The pictures are of Paco and I discussing his next move, Javier triumphant at last on top of the almost (it requires holes yet for the pipes) potho, Javier’s wife (who came up for the ride whilst their children were at school) feeding their new little puppy, and lastly we bought an evening scented jasmine last week, and the picture shows that it is enjoying where we have put it outside the caravan door, with it’s lovely flowers and amazing scent, whilst we have an “evening cap” or two or three or more.

Dear Paul and Elayne.

I still think it's a caterpillar!

We have difficulty in envisaging the the ground plan of your budding hacienda. In one of your idle moments why not sketch a rough ground plan showing where all the interesting artifacts are in relation to each other. Lay-by, hebe, poto whatsit etc. etc. Should be possible to photograph your sketch if it is made with a fibre pen.

The weather still looks terrific!

Love from us both.
