Nothing much done today except going down to Turre and being the first one in the cyber café so that I could ensure that the blog is logged on for Friday and Saturday, such dedication. This together unveiling my embryonic plans for a grand Taberno fig festival. Our figs could become as expensive as caviar. If we use the ‘Betty’s’, of Harrogate fame, formula we could charge €25 each for them. They could become the Spanish equivalent of truffles. We could have fig tree hunting party holidays around Cortijo del Madrono (gloves supplied).
This morning whilst in Turre I read Jane and Jeff’s weblog, friends from Benerraba (it’s a while since I have caught up with them). They now have another cat to add to their collection of animals. I think that they now have three dogs, three cats and two donkeys, unless I have missed any other additions. The Noah’s Arc of Benerraba. Best wishes to them both, it’s a very good and interesting blog.
I made major inroads to reading ‘Andalucia, The Rough Guide’ today. An excellent book covering all aspects of life here including the culture and the flora and forna in this region. I thank my special friends back at Pool for sending me this book.
We walked down the new to be developed area of El Pinar tonight. There will be many, many further properties here in the next five years as it turns into a small town. Thank goodness we are not stopping for long.
We have another busy day tomorrow, watch this space.
