Friday 4-8-2006

Date 4-8-2006 Friday
After making some successful Skype calls this morning we took Debs, Ivan and Ollie up to Taberno to show them the plot of land that we want to buy. We picked some early Almonds and we found a fid tree with yellow fruit some of which are ripe now. The yellow figs tasted really sweet. Do any of my esteem readers have any information or knowledge about yellow figs, as apposed to the purple figs that will be ripe in a month or so? As soon as we returned to base I & O were straight into the pool on some blow up toys that they have bought in Mojacar.

Ok I've remembered how to upload the images. Competition: Fit the images to the last seven or eight blog dates. Prize for the first twenty winners is a pallet of over-ripe yellow figs delivered via Heathrow ;-)))))))))))))

Hi Paul

Filched this from the internet.

'Yellow-green Italian Dottato (or Cadota) figs are probably the most important variety of common fig. Although usually eaten fresh they are also used for canning. Their squashy, syrupy sweetness makes a good store-cupboard companion for vanilla ice cream.'

They keep for only three days when picked.

Enjoy - I know I would.

We can see the photos now and Ivan and Oliver Must be having a whale of a time.

All the best

Cathy

Well done, thanks a lot but can't see them travelling very well. I suppose we'll have to eat them all ourselves ;-)))) Take care
