Today is our son Nick’s birthday. We wish him a very happy one.
It’s been a very lovely but cold day today, we slept well last night and really hope that we have some long period of rest before more winds come along. Even though we were scared witless by the wind and the battering of the caravan and portacabin, everything was intact when we ventured out to look for any damage. If you remember we tried to put some netting up on the windward side of the caravan. Well in the end the wind beat us and we had to take it all down. We even tried to retain the netting by putting a plank on the roof and then double hand sized boulders in front of the planking, all to no avail. The wind very nearly took me off the ladders on two occasions so we called it quits in fear of damaging the caravan roof.
Today it has been so nice that we have pottered about catching up on jobs that we left after the move to the lay-by.
Perhaps tomorrow, if it’s good out, we will go down and try to harvest some of the olives from our twelve trees. It will be interesting to see if we have any left after all the winds.
